the forecast. wall street rallied. a big bucket of cold water was poured on wall street and the economy with the lackluster jobs. >> the economy added an average of 215,000 jobs per month in the previous three months so the anticipation was there. and it showed a stand still in june. what is it about june, do we know what happen? >> it's not just june. they went back and revised downward the prior month. they thought they had 57,000 jobs in may. it turned out it was 25,000. they got rid of it -- they revised away 45,000 additional jobs. we think there have been temporary blips in the economy, the greek situation, storms all through the south you were reporting on. you've had high gas prices and a whole lot of other things have been happening and that caused the economy to come to a stand still and hiring come to a stand still in may and june. we hope that's the case. >> you want to bring up an important thing that a lot of people don't hear about. you call it the real unemployment rate, the ratio of unemployed, discouraged workers and people working part time because they can't find ful

the humidity and heat the horses are still breezing. they are just getting light exercise before the big day. they do it in the absence of any weather breeze, if you can believe it. the expected high is 95. the heat index, 98. officials say, no matter what, the horses will run. opening day at america's oldest sporting venue is a summertime ritual. this year the heat wave blanketing much of the country could threaten that tradition. racetrack officials are monitoring conditions and expect the races to go on as planned despite a predicted heat index of 100 degrees. races have been postponed only once before due to hot weather, during the summer of 2006. all along the east coast, people trying to enjoy the dog days of summer are feeling the heat. in outdoor rock concert in new jersey preventative cooling measures like sprinklers and slip and slides couldn't keep nearly 100 people from being treateded for heat exhaustion. at least one person was take ton the hospital. in the nation's capital it felt like 112 degrees thursday. paramedics were called to treat at least two people who collapsed on s
